TEACHING PHOTOGRAPHY

I began teaching photography to clients who bought a new digital camera and wanted to learn to take better photos themselves without the long process of a formal program.

Then, people started asking for a class on SmartPhone Photography! Through South Seattle College's Continuing Education program, I found I really enjoyed teaching in a group setting.

Today, I am happy to host classes in my West Seattle Studio or for small groups as a part of ongoing team building and trainings for small businesses.

My current classes are offered below.

Other class examples:

Group Adventure

Designed for a Multiple Sclerosis patient group - they strive to get folks out and active. What I loved about cultivating this class was adding a scavenger hunt part to the class so that folks could enjoy the park location and sights while also practicing and learning.

Business Team

Small businesses usually manage all the things including social media and marketing. From sales to service based businesses, I have taught classes for groups to elevate their products or benefit from their services. And, it is a fun group building event, and helps everyone capture images that can be useful for the business and in their own lives.

Custom Class

This is perfect for the person preparing for a big trip or those wanting to lean into a new hobby and improve their skills. For this type of class, I have taught both for a new DSLR owner and someone who got a new Smartphone. I'm happy to build a class for any type of camera.

Stella - Smartphone Class

"I had the pleasure to take Holli’s Smart Phone class a few months ago and absolutely loved it. I was impressed at how Holli juggled the difficult tasks of giving us real-time feedback while at the same time staying on track with the schedule and curriculum.

The class was provided in two 1-hour sessions, which was great because it allowed students to practice between the 2 sessions, and also to come up with questions. We got a small homework assignment. Nothing overwhelming, but extremely useful to put into practice the skills we had learned the first day, and quite empowering.

It was really a great beginners’ class, in a super friendly atmosphere. Holli is so up-beat and engaging, and also very respectful of everyone’s preferred way and pace of learning. Thank you, Holli!"
