Behind the scenes with Maggie Greene, Self Magnitude

Branding Photography

Maggie and I met through a mutual friend, a local business woman here in the Seattle area. It was during Covid, and while I wasn't working in person again yet, we connected virtually and I was delighted to learn more about her styling and branding services. Less than a year later, and with restrictions lifted, we found ourselves working together for both branding and personal portraits!

It was really fascinating to work with someone who can provide guidance and support from creating a whole brand vision and style guide to day of photography service with hair, makeup and wardrobe styling. For branding photography, colors, fabric, and overall look and feel for your image from logo to portraits come to play.

Here below are some examples, starting with Maggie's own branding photo session - her logo colors play through a couple of scenes below (Pink and green, black and white):

Photos bringing the brand to life

Working with BlueMoth Hearing, we focused on what the product does for people - they have better hearing and can enjoy life with hearing support that fits them!

We worked with several models and showcased them in various scenarios while wearing the hearing tech. Maggie's styling helped support each scene from fitness to friends out for drinks to a professional setting. She helped style each model's look and was on site to do their day of makeup, hair and final wardrobe styling too.

Having her support before, and during made the process much more successful! Our client was wonderful and each model was too, it made for a very enjoyable time for each photo day we spent together.

Personal Portraits: Grandmother's Fur coat

A stylist is so helpful in personal portraits too! Maggie and I have worked with several clients who wanted more personal portraits from dating profile portraits to something more sentimental. One example I want to highlight is Shelby - we designed a photo session around her Grandmother's fur coat!

We used Shelby's Grandmother's black and white portrait as a guiding point, and then enjoyed doing more stylized portraits from there. As a professional actor, it was really fantastic to go from Vintage Glam to Retro Style with more options she brought as you can see below.

Personal Portraits: Anniversary

Maggie and her partner love Halloween! For their anniversary, they celebrated with a Viking Themed portrait session, styled by Maggie, naturally. This was actually our first photo session together, and it was a true adventure at a local park during a fall storm!

Thankfully, my husband was assisting so I had extra hands to hold down the light stand, and carry the gear through the windy forest. While I was initially disappointed with the weather, it turned into a very memorable experience and as the sky broke into sunshine, I'd say it provided an even more successful portrait setting.

New Workshop Series: Styling for LIfe and Portraits

Maggie and I have collaborated to offer a new workshop! I hear from clients all the time who do not have the budget to hire a stylist for their photo session, but they still need support. This workshop is designed to fill that need. You'll learn about Make Up and Wardrobe styling from our experience.

This is offered in 2 parts - Virtually for Makeup (Oct. 4th) and In-person for Wardrobe (Oct. 11th). You may attend both or one, whatever fits your needs best. Full workshop series description and registration is hosted here.

In order to create all of the supportive materials for each class, registration closes on Sept. 15th. We look forward to empowering you!
