Beauty of Age Portrait Project

Starting in 2018, I used black and white 35mm film to celebrate the beauty of aging in women between 50-100 years old! My vision was to photograph women who had not altered their appearance with plastic surgery and felt confident to share the beauty of their age.

Then in March 2020, I put the project on pause due to the Pandemic. I’m inspired to begin again here in March 2025. I had photographed 25 women, so I have half of the project to complete.

Each portrait represents an age such as 50 years old, or 100 years old. I'm happy to share I have both the bookends of the project covered.

If you or your loved one is interested in participating, I am looking for those between the ages of 60-99 years old. I have some of the ages in that range filled but that's the span that I still need more participants. Please reach through my contact form.

Relaunched the project in a Studio Open House!

Here I am standing next to 9 of the 25 completed portraits. One really special part of the project is including the question: what is your favorite attribute about yourself?

I look forward to hosting a show in the studio once the project is complete.

beauty of Age Inspiration

After losing my mom to cancer at the age of 57, and her sister just a few years before that at the age of 53, I have been inspired with this photography project idea. Their short lives have taught me that aging is a gift.

These portraits focus on celebrating women who are confident with their beauty between these specific years, 50-100 years old. The reason for this age range is because I think it’s the time when our youthful focused culture starts to look away.

I want to see more women, confident and proud of their laugh lines!
